WHO IS ANNAN?
I’m a compassionate and down-to-earth psychotherapist who approaches healing and personal growth through an attachment-focused lens. Grounded in the understanding that our earliest relationships shape how we experience connection, safety, and self-worth, I help clients make sense of their present by exploring the patterns that began long before. My style is insightful yet straightforward, blending clinical knowledge with authenticity and a good dose of humour so that clients feel both supported and truly understood.
As a Fort McMurray local, I bring more than professional training into the therapy room, I have a genuine understanding of the community I serve. I recognize the unique challenges, resilience, and shared experiences that come with living and working in the region, creating a space that feels familiar, welcoming, and real. I work with individuals navigating meaningful life transitions, including parental and pet grief and loss, as well as those who want to better understand where their thoughts, behaviours, and relationship patterns come from.
I also support clients who are curious about how attachment shows up in their everyday lives and those struggling with self-worth, burnout, and emotional dysregulation. At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy should feel human- a place where you can slow down, explore your story, and move toward a more grounded, secure, and connected version of yourself.
Hi, I’m Annan slattery
My approach to therapy is grounded in an attachment-focused perspective, rooted in the understanding that our earliest relationships shape how we experience connection, safety, and self-worth throughout our lives. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the patterns, coping strategies, and emotional responses that once served a purpose but may now be keeping them feeling stuck or disconnected. With a balance of insight and practical tools, I help clients make sense of their experiences in a way that feels clear, compassionate, and empowering.
My style is warm, straightforward, and authentic. I believe that therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or intimidating - it should feel human. I bring curiosity, honesty, and a sense of humour into the room, creating a space where clients can show up exactly as they are. Whether the work involves navigating anxiety and burnout, processing grief, strengthening self-worth, or building healthier relationship patterns, my focus is always on helping clients develop greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and a more secure and connected way of moving through the world.
